1. Professional Integrity
- Conduct all activities with honesty, transparency, and accountability.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any potential or perceived conflicts in a timely manner.
- Refrain from any form of deception, misrepresentation, or unethical behavior in professional dealings.
2. Competence and Diligence
- Maintain and improve technical knowledge, skills, and qualifications relevant to one’s field of expertise.
- Deliver services with due care, accuracy, and within the scope of one’s competence.
- Support the development and dissemination of best practices within the conformity assessment community.
3. Confidentiality
- Respect the confidentiality of proprietary, personal, or sensitive information obtained through professional activities.
- Use such information only for its intended purpose and never for personal or competitive advantage.
4. Impartiality and Fairness
- Act impartially and objectively in all assessments, evaluations, and professional judgments.
- Avoid favoritism, discrimination, or bias based on nationality, gender, ethnicity, beliefs, or affiliations.
5. Compliance with Standards and Regulations
- Adhere to applicable international standards, regulatory requirements, and professional guidelines in all conformity assessment activities.
- Respect and promote the value of accredited and internationally recognized practices.
6. Contribution to the CAS Community
- Support the mission and objectives of CAS by participating in knowledge sharing, collaboration, and capacity-building efforts.
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, and constructive environment within the CAS network.
7. Reporting Misconduct
- Promptly report any observed violations of this Code of Conduct or unethical practices within the profession to the CAS Ethics Committee.
8. Sanctions for Breach
- Understand that violations of this Code may result in disciplinary actions, including suspension or revocation of membership, following due process.
