As Chairman, I am proud to lead an organization that not only represents the global community of conformity assessment professionals but also sets a strategic vision for the future of our field. In a world of rapid innovation, evolving risks, and complex regulatory landscapes, the role of conformity assessment has never been more critical.

Conformity Assessment Society was established to provide leadership, direction, and a unifying platform for professionals across testing, inspection, certification, and accreditation. Our mission extends beyond technical excellence—we aim to influence the development of robust, globally aligned conformity systems that support trust, trade, and innovation.

Through strategic initiatives, expert collaboration, and proactive engagement with international frameworks, Conformity Assessment Society is committed to shaping policies, building professional capacity, and ensuring that our members are prepared not just for today’s challenges, but for tomorrow’s opportunities.

Organizational Chart

  • The Conformity Assessment Society operates through a streamlined and transparent organizational structure designed to support its mission and ensure effective governance. 
  • At the core of Society is the Board of Directors, responsible for strategic direction, oversight, and policy development. Supporting the Board are several specialized committees focused on key areas such as membership, technical affairs, trainings, and publications. 
  • The daily operations are managed by the Secretariat, which coordinates programs, member services, and external relations. 
  • This collaborative structure ensures that the Society remains responsive to the needs of conformity assessment professionals while upholding its values of integrity, competence, and global engagement.

  • Dr. George Anastasopoulos (US) – Chairman of the Board.
    Provides overall leadership and strategic direction; represents CAS globally; chairs the Board of Directors.  The Technical & International Business Development Manager at PJLA and General Secretary of IPC. A Mechanical Engineer with a PhD in Applied Mechanics, and an active member of ISO/TC 176, ISO/CASCO, and ASTM, contributing, among other standards, to ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025. He has been deeply involved in IAF and ILAC global accreditation activities and is widely recognized for advancing conformity assessment worldwide. Recipient of the EOQ Georges Borel Award, he has published extensively and is a frequent keynote speaker shaping the future of quality, accreditation, and international cooperation.


  • Mr. Osman Vural (Turkey) – Vice President, Membership Growth.
    Supports Board leadership continuity and oversees global membership expansion, including the creation and vitality of CAS Chapters and stronger member networks. A highly respected civil engineer and conformity assessment expert from İzmir, Turkey. He worked for the Turkish Standards Institute, and later he directed a calibration laboratory. He became a pioneer by launching the country’s first private accredited personnel certification body in 2006 holding significant leadership roles and serving as chairman in the International Personnel Certification Association (IPC) and as Technical Expert in many ISO/CASCO Technical Committees. 


  • Mr. Anil Jauhri (India) – Director of Professional Development.
    Leading CAS’s professional development initiatives through training, seminars, conferences, and publications. Ex-CEO of India’s National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB), a globally recognized influential leader in conformity assessment and quality infrastructure. With over four decades of impact, he has pioneered certification schemes in food safety, medical devices, agriculture, and healthcare, and set international benchmarks for integrating third-party certification into regulation. A long-standing member of the UNFCCC CDM Accreditation Panel and advisor to ASI GmbH, the ISEAL Alliance, and major global agencies such as UNIDO, FAO, IFC, and the WTO, he is a trusted authority whose work has strengthened the credibility and global recognition of accredited certification systems.


  • Mr. Emmanuel Geneiatakis (Belgium) – Director of Technical Programs.
    Coordinates technical committees, develops new schemes, and provides regulatory and technical guidance.   A recognized authority in conformity assessment and technical program development, with deep expertise in inspection, testing, and certification systems. Known for his ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical, value-adding solutions, he has guided organizations toward stronger compliance and global credibility. With a strong commitment to the principles of international recognition under IAF, Mr. Geneiatakis promotes conformity assessment practices that strengthen trust, global acceptance, and confidence in accredited results.


  • Mr. Jasmin Dhakan (UAE/Dubai) – Director of Communications & Marketing.
    Leads publicity, branding, and communication strategies to promote CAS and ensure members remain informed and connected.  A global accreditation expert and TIC industry thought leader with 12+ years of experience in ISO consulting, training, and auditing. Founder & Global Director of SHI, he has delivered 100+ ISO projects and trained over 1,000 quality managers worldwide. He also contributes actively as Director of IPC, supporting international recognition of competence frameworks.

BoD Role

The Board of Directors (BoD) of the Conformity Assessment Society (CAS) is the strategic and governing body that defines the vision, mission, and priorities of the Society while ensuring transparency, integrity, and alignment with international best practices. 


It provides oversight of policies, professional frameworks, and the work of committees and chapters, safeguarding impartiality and the value of CAS initiatives such as training, publications, and scheme development. 


The BoD also carries fiduciary responsibility, ensuring financial sustainability, approving budgets, and guiding resources toward advancing CAS’s mission. 


In addition, it represents CAS globally, advocates for the recognition of conformity assessment professionals, and appoints and oversees the Executive Committee and Secretariat to balance strategic direction with operational execution. 

The Executive Committee

 The Executive Committee of the Conformity Assessment Society is composed of ex-officio experts of international standing in the fields of certification, inspection, testing, accreditation, and standardization. These distinguished professionals are recognized globally for their expertise, leadership, and contributions to the development and promotion of conformity assessment practices.

As the strategic leadership body of CAS, the Executive Committee ensures that the Society fulfills its mission to advance excellence, integrity, and global cooperation across all sectors of conformity assessment. Members provide authoritative guidance on policy, partnerships, and professional initiatives, drawing upon their extensive experience and respected positions in international forums, standardization bodies, and industry associations.

By steering CAS’s vision, safeguarding its impartiality and upholding its core values, the Executive Committee plays a central role in shaping a more credible, collaborative, and recognized global community of conformity professionals.

Mr. Peter S Unger (USA)

Peter S Unger, A2LA President Emeritus, has been a pillar of the global accreditation community, serving on the ILAC Executive Committee since 2001 and as ILAC Chair from 2011 to 2016. Recognized for his unwavering focus on market and end-user needs, Unger elevated ILAC’s visibility with global organizations including WTO, ISO, IEC, and the World Bank, while actively championing the ILAC MRA. His leadership and dedication have left an enduring mark on ILAC and its members, advancing the vision of “Accreditation accepted everywhere.” 

Mr. Thomas Votsmeier (Germany)

Director of Standardization at DGQ and Head of its Personnel Certification Body. A driving force in global conformity assessment and management system standards for over two decades, he represents EOQ and DIN at ISO TC 176 and contributes to CASCO, IPC, and EA, where his leadership continues to shape international certification and inspire confidence worldwide.

Mr. Alex Ezrakhovich (Australia)

An internationally respected authority in conformity assessment, management systems, and regulatory compliance, residing in Australia. With decades of influential involvement in ISO, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), he has helped shape global policies, standards, and best practices that underpin trust in certification and accreditation worldwide. Renowned for his strategic vision, technical mastery, and unwavering commitment to excellence, Alex is a trusted advisor to industry leaders, accreditation bodies, and certification organizations globally. 

Dr. Ioannis Matsas (Greece)

Ex-Managing Director of both the Greek Organization for Standardization (ELOT) and the Greek Accreditation System (ESYD) a recognized expert in Conformity Assessment. A mechanical engineer (PhD) by training Dr. Ioannis Matsas has played a key role in shaping Greece’s and EA's quality infrastructure. With extensive involvement in international and regional bodies—including ISO, CEN, CENELEC, EA, and IAF/ILAC—he is widely regarded as a leading authority in the field of conformity assessment and standardization. 

Dr. Tommy Lo (Honk Kong)

Chairman of the International Personnel Certification Association (IPC) and President of the Hong Kong Institution of Certified Auditors (HKICA), is a distinguished authority in conformity assessment and global personnel certification. With decades of leadership in advancing competence-based standards, he has guided IPC’s expansion of its Multilateral Recognition Arrangements, championed the harmonization of certification practices, and strengthened the global trust framework that underpins professional mobility, integrity, and excellence across industries. 

Mr. Pambos Kammas (Cyprus)

A leading figure in conformity assessment and standardization in the Eastern Mediterranean, serving as Director of Standardization at the Cyprus Organization for Standardization (CYS), he drives national and regional initiatives that strengthen quality, innovation, and global competitiveness. Recognized for his leadership and expertise, he was elected to the CENELEC Administrative Board and the CEN Administrative Board, positioning him among the influential decision-makers shaping the future of European and international standardization. 

Dr. Easter Huang (Taiwan)

A renowned authority in ESG assurance, sustainability verification, and international Conformity Assessment. As the Chairman of the Chinese National Verification Business Association, he leads efforts in third-party assurance of sustainability (ESG) reports in Global level.  Deeply engaged at the highest levels of conformity assessment and accreditation, he also serves as a director to leading international bodies, contributing to global policy, standardization, and strategic development in the Conformity Assessment field. 

The Advisory Board

The Advisory Board of the Conformity Assessment Society (CAS) is a consultative body composed of distinguished experts, senior executives, and thought leaders in testing, inspection, certification, and accreditation, providing strategic guidance, policy advice, and professional insights to support CAS’s mission, enhance its credibility, strengthen its global network, and promote knowledge sharing, while operating without executive authority and with members appointed for their expertise, reputation, and commitment to advancing the field of conformity assessment. 

Members of the Advisory Board of the Conformity Assessment Society include:

Professor George A. Papadantonakis (USA)

Clinical Professor and Director of General Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago, an internationally respected figure in both physical chemistry and conformity assessment. A leading researcher in cancer biophysics, he uses advanced quantum mechanical methods to study DNA damage mechanisms relevant to carcinogenesis and chemotherapy. As a member of the Editorial Review Board of the International Journal of Conformity Assessment, he plays a key role in upholding global standards in testing, certification, and accreditation. Co-author of a widely used physical chemistry textbooks, he bridges scientific innovation, education, and international quality leadership. 

Professor Emil Hazarian (USA)

A globally respected expert in metrology, quality assurance, and standardization, with decades of leadership in national laboratories, manufacturing, and international consultancy. An advisor to the U.S. Department of Commerce and trusted consultant to NIST, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and defense and commercial laboratories worldwide, he has advanced ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 excellence across sectors. For over 24 years, he has shaped future quality leaders as a professor at California State University, Dominguez Hills, leaving a lasting impact on the global conformity assessment community. 

Dr. N. S. Raman (India)

An AICTE-INAE Distinguished Professor, former Chief Scientist, Deputy Director & Head, National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Nagpur, India. In his leadership role, he champions green campus initiatives, oversees sustainability projects, and drives ESG-focused research and consultancy. Dr. Raman provides strategic direction to students and faculty involved in environmental stewardship, sustainable development and conformity assessment.

Professor Ioannis S. Boziaris (Greece)

A leading authority in food safety and a pivotal figure in conformity assessment. As a senior Assessor for the Hellenic Accreditation System, he evaluates Food Safety Management System Certification Bodies, safeguarding the credibility of certifications that support global trade. His expertise in seafood microbiology, spoilage mechanisms, minimal processing, and advanced -omics applications enables him to assess conformity with exceptional technical precision.
