Course Description

Foundations of Conformity Assessment is a self-paced, self-study, remote Certificate course that introduces the principles, processes, and global framework of conformity assessment. Participants explore the roles of testing, inspection, certification, and accreditation in building trust in products, services, and systems. The course covers key standards, international recognition arrangements, and the impact of conformity assessment on trade, regulation, and consumer protection. Learning materials are provided in advance, with interactive quizzes after each module and a final assessment to validate understanding. Successful participants receive a certificate of completion, enhancing their professional credentials in quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

The course has been developed by a team of Conformity Assessment experts exclusively for the Conformity Assessment Society.

Course Format

This self-study course is delivered in a structured, interactive format designed to balance self-paced learning with knowledge validation.  Self-paced, self-study courses offer the flexibility to learn anytime and anywhere, allowing participants to progress at their own speed while balancing professional and personal commitments.

Pre-Course Material Delivery

Upon registration, participants receive access to a digital course pack, including:

- A Participant Guide with all lesson notes, video links, reading materials, and key definitions.

- Selected international conformity assessment related study material.

- Exercises and Case studies illustrating real-world conformity assessment scenarios.

Materials are provided in PDF format and can be downloaded for offline study.

Assessment

At the end of the course, participants take an online test. The test includes multiple-choice questions. Passing grade: 70% or higher.

Certificate of Completion

Participants who successfully pass the final assessment receive a digital certificate verifying their achievement.

The certificate can be shared on LinkedIn or included in professional development records.

Successful completion of the course awards 2.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), equivalent to 25 hours of structured learning.

Registration Deadline

- Participants can register by April 30, 2026.

- The course will run from May 4, 2026 through May 20, 2026.

- The material will be released May 4, 2026. Participants will have to complete the final test by May 20, 2026.

The course participation fee is USD $450.
