The Conformity Assessment Society (CAS) is committed to supporting the continuing professional development of its members through accessible, high-quality education.
Professional and Organizational Members in good standing are entitled to enroll in one (1) CAS self-study certificate course per membership year at no additional cost. To remain eligible, members must maintain an active membership by renewing annually before its expiration date and comply with the Society's membership requirements and Code of Ethics.
Members wishing to enroll in additional CAS certificate courses during the same membership year are eligible to receive a 60% discount off the standard non-member course registration fee for each additional course.
This educational benefit is intended to encourage lifelong learning, promote professional competence, and support the development of highly qualified professionals in testing, inspection, certification, accreditation, standardization, and the broader conformity assessment community.
Policy Summary
- Active CAS members in good standing receive one (1) complimentary CAS self-study certificate course per membership year.
- The complimentary course may be selected from any eligible CAS self-study certificate course offered during the member's active membership period.
- Additional CAS self-study certificate courses are available to members at a 60% discounted registration fee.
- Benefits are non-transferable and apply only while membership remains active and in good standing.
- Complimentary courses do not accumulate or carry over to subsequent membership years if unused.

Guidance on Earning CAS Continuing Development Units (CDUs)

The Conformity Assessment Society (CAS) is pleased to release its official guidance on how members can earn Continuing Development Units (CDUs) as part of their ongoing professional development [Referred also as Continuing Education Units (CEUs)]. CDUs recognize structured learning across a wide range of CAS and external activities.
Members can now earn CDUs through CAS membership (1.5 CDUs), participation in Working Groups or Technical Committees (2 CDUs), publishing articles in CADigest (2 CDUs), submitting technical notes to the CAS website (1 CDU), CAS internships (0.5 CDU/month), volunteer service (0.5 CDU per 10 hours) and CAS trainings with 1 CDU = 10 hours of structured, verifiable learning.
